AlloyForge Industries is hiring a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead operational excellence in our Chicago plant. This role drives safe, reliable, and cost-efficient production by shaping processes, equipment layouts, and workforce development.
As a key member of the Manufacturing Leadership Team, you will partner with Production, Quality, and Maintenance to optimize flow, reduce waste, and enable data-driven decisions. You will mentor engineers and technicians, manage capital projects, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibility
- Lead daily production planning and scheduling to meet customer demand while minimizing downtime and inventory
- Drive continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, SMED, and total productive maintenance
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs and capital project execution for equipment upgrades
- Develop standard work, job aids, and comprehensive operator training to improve consistency
- Analyze production metrics, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with Quality and Safety teams to ensure process capability and adherence to standards
- Identify and deploy automation and robotics enhancements to increase overall equipment effectiveness
- Coach and develop shop floor teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and engagement
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in an industrial production or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with ERP and production planning systems (eg SAP, Oracle) and data analytics
- Proven problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Familiarity with automation, robotics, PLCs, and maintenance integration
- Commitment to safety with knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safe work practices
- Excellent communication, leadership, and change-management abilities
