Responsibility

  • Lead development and validation of forecast products using numerical models and ensemble analysis.
  • Interpret model output and quantify forecast uncertainty for diverse client needs.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and visualization tools for rapid weather decision-making.
  • Collaborate with data science, GIS, and operations to deploy predictive capabilities.
  • Prepare technical notes, briefings, and client-ready reports for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior meteorologists and interns; contribute to training programs.

Qualification

  • Master's degree or PhD in meteorology or a closely related field.
  • 5+ years of operational forecasting, research, or related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of NWP models (HRRR, NAM, GFS) and forecast interpretation.
  • Proficiency in Python and MATLAB; experience with data visualization and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with GIS, remote sensing, and weather data platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to tailor complex results for diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States; willingness to sometimes travel for collaborations.
