Responsibility
- Lead development and validation of forecast products using numerical models and ensemble analysis.
- Interpret model output and quantify forecast uncertainty for diverse client needs.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and visualization tools for rapid weather decision-making.
- Collaborate with data science, GIS, and operations to deploy predictive capabilities.
- Prepare technical notes, briefings, and client-ready reports for non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor junior meteorologists and interns; contribute to training programs.
- Represent the company at conferences and industry forums to share methods and insights.
Qualification
- Master's degree or PhD in meteorology or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of operational forecasting, research, or related experience.
- Strong knowledge of NWP models (HRRR, NAM, GFS) and forecast interpretation.
- Proficiency in Python and MATLAB; experience with data visualization and statistical analysis.
- Experience with GIS, remote sensing, and weather data platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to tailor complex results for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
- Eligibility to work in the United States; willingness to sometimes travel for collaborations.
