In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to translate complex atmospheric data into actionable insights, deliver high-quality forecast products, and contribute to research that advances understanding of regional weather patterns. Responsibility

  • Lead the development, validation, and operational deployment of forecast models and ensemble techniques to improve regional accuracy.
  • Analyze large meteorological datasets (radar, satellite, model output, observations) to derive insights for operations and decision-makers.
  • Collaborate with data science, IT, and field operations to implement robust weather analytics solutions and dashboards.
  • Design and conduct experiments to evaluate model physics, parameterizations, and data assimilation approaches.
  • Produce clear, actionable forecast products and technical reports for stakeholders with emphasis on clarity and impact.
  • Mentor and train junior meteorologists and analysts; contribute to methodological publications and internal knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure data quality, reproducibility, and documentation of models, workflows, and analyses.

Qualification

  • Master’s degree (or PhD preferred) in meteorology, atmospheric science, or a closely related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in numerical weather prediction, weather modeling, or climate analytics.
  • Proficiency in Python (NumPy, SciPy, Pandas) and experience with MATLAB or R.
  • Strong data visualization skills and ability to communicate complex results to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix, Git, and cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).
  • Familiarity with meteorological data formats (NetCDF, GRIB, BUFR) and datasets (radar, satellite, model output).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, collaboration, and project management abilities.
