NovaGen Biotech is seeking a highly motivated Senior Molecular Biologist to join our rapidly growing team in Boston, MA. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge therapeutic discovery and diagnostic development within a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment.
As a key member of our research and development group, you will design and execute experiments, optimize workflows, and translate innovative ideas into robust, scalable assays and pipelines.
Responsibility
- Lead hands-on molecular biology experiments including cloning, plasmid design, and assay development for discovery and translation projects.
- Design, optimize, and troubleshoot protocols across cell culture, nucleic acid work, and protein expression.
- Develop and validate genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic assays using qPCR, RT-qPCR, sequencing, and ELISA.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret results, progress projects, and ensure high-quality documentation.
- Maintain rigorous data management and record-keeping in accordance with GMP/GLP standards where applicable.
- Mentor junior scientists and provide technical leadership in experimental design and troubleshooting.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and contribute to manuscript writing.
Qualification
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related field; or MS with 5+ years of industry experience in biotechnology.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in molecular biology, cell culture, and assay development.
- Strong proficiency with CRISPR/Cas9 or other gene-editing approaches, vector design, and cloning techniques.
- Experience with nucleic acid techniques (PCR, RT-PCR, qPCR, sequencing) and protein assays (ELISA, Western blot).
- Proficient data analysis in Python or R, with ability to interpret complex datasets and generate actionable insights.
- Knowledge of GMP/GLP and excellent documentation practices, SOP development, and lab safety.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and project-management skills with a results-driven mindset.
