We are seeking a passionate Senior Molecular Biologist to join our expanding R&D team in Boston. The ideal candidate will design and execute cutting-edge experiments, translate results into actionable insights, and mentor junior scientists. This role offers exposure to state-of-the-art technologies, cross-functional collaboration, and the opportunity to contribute to therapeutics that improve patient outcomes.
As part of our biology team, you will drive the design of robust molecular assays, participate in risk assessments, and help advance preclinical programs from concept to data-driven decision points.
Responsibility
- Lead design, execution, and optimization of molecular biology experiments (gene expression, cloning, and assay development) to support preclinical programs.
- Develop and optimize CRISPR-based gene editing workflows in mammalian cells, including controls and validation assays.
- Manage mammalian cell culture, transfection, and screening assays with rigorous documentation.
- Analyze data using Python and R; generate clear, publication-ready figures and reports.
- Collaborate with protein scientists, bioinformaticians, and pharmacology teams to drive project decisions.
- Establish and maintain SOPs, QC criteria, and robust documentation in ELN/LIMS systems.
- Mentor junior scientists, provide technical training, and contribute to interview and onboarding processes.
- Prepare technical reports, grant-ready figures, and contribute to manuscript preparation as needed.
Qualification
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, or related field; or MS with 5+ years of hands-on experience in a biotech setting.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, cloning, and design of genetic constructs.
- Proficiency with mammalian cell culture, transfection techniques, qPCR/RT-qPCR, Western blot, ELISA, and sequencing workflows.
- Strong data analysis skills using Python and/or R; experience with bioinformatics tools a plus.
