At ApexPack Industries, we design and manufacture cutting-edge packaging solutions for global consumer brands. We seek a results-driven Senior Packaging Engineer to lead packaging development from concept to production launch, ensuring performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability across multiple product lines.
In this role, you will collaborate with R&D, procurement, and manufacturing to optimize materials, tooling, and processes. You will own design for manufacturability, supplier qualification, and regulatory compliance, while mentoring junior engineers and driving cross-functional initiatives that elevate quality and throughput.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end packaging development projects from brief through pilot runs and full-scale production launches.
- Design and qualify packaging materials and components to meet performance, cost, and sustainability targets.
- Collaborate with suppliers to evaluate materials, test data, color/graphics, and process capabilities; manage vendor relationships.
- Validate processes using DOE, FMEA, and GMP/GLP guidelines; ensure QA/QC compliance and traceability.
- Partner with manufacturing to optimize lines, equipment, change control, and container specifications for sustained efficiency.
- Drive cost-reduction and sustainability initiatives, including material substitution and packaging streamlining.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers; collaborate with cross-functional teams on best practices and standards.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of packaging engineering experience in consumer goods or packaging suppliers.
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials (flexible, paperboard, corrugate), packaging machinery, and converting processes.
- Proven experience with Design for Manufacturability, DOE, Six Sigma/Lean methods, and regulatory compliance (FDA/CE as applicable).
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Effective communication, supplier management, and data-driven decision-making abilities.
- Experience with CAD tools, data analysis, and MES/ERP systems is preferred.
