At ApexPack Industries, we design and manufacture premium packaging solutions for consumer goods. We are seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to lead packaging development, optimize performance, and drive cost savings across the product lifecycle. You will collaborate with R&D, production, QA, and supply chain to deliver robust, scalable packaging that protects products and reinforces brand value.
In this role, you will own specification creation, material selection, container design, and regulatory compliance while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating cross-functional teams.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end packaging design from concept through pilot runs to full-scale production.
- Optimize packaging materials and components to meet performance, cost, and sustainability targets.
- Plan and execute testing (ISTA, drop, compression, vibration) and document results for approvals.
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and QA to transfer packaging designs into production.
- Manage supplier relationships and evaluate new materials and converting technologies.
- Support quality systems, CAPAs, and regulatory compliance for packaging.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of packaging engineering or materials development experience.
- Hands-on experience with ISTA testing, packaging standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and knowledge of packaging materials and conversion processes.
- Experience with NPI, APQP/PPAP, and product transfer to manufacturing.
- Data-driven problem solving, root cause analysis, and familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and influence stakeholders.
