We are seeking a hands-on Print Production Manager who can oversee prepress, color management, bindery, and final output across multiple presses. Responsibility
- Oversee daily print production across digital and offset presses, ensuring on-time delivery and budget adherence.
- Manage prepress workflow, color calibration, ICC profiling, and proofing processes to guarantee exact reproductions.
- Develop and optimize production schedules, allocate resources, and monitor capacity across multiple presses.
- Lead quality control throughout the print process, perform final checks, and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain equipment uptime and preventive maintenance, coordinate service visits, and manage consumables inventory.
- Recruit, train, and supervise print shop staff; mentor team to achieve skills advancement.
- Collaborate with sales, design, and logistics to estimate job costs, timelines, and customer communication.
- Implement and enforce safety standards, 5S practices, and sustainability initiatives where applicable.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Communications, Printing Technology, or 3+ years in print production leadership
- Strong knowledge of offset and digital printing, color management, ICC profiles, and proofing workflows
- Experience with bindery, finishing, mailing, and packaging processes
- Proficiency with RIP software and prepress workflows (e.g., Esko/ArtPro, Heidelberg Prinect, Kodak Prinergy)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with a track record of meeting deadlines
- Ability to read job jackets, proofs, and production specs; strong math and cost estimation abilities
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement; ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
