NovaLeaf Publishing is seeking a dynamic Senior Publishing Editor to lead our print and digital book programs. The ideal candidate combines deep editorial judgment with strategic project management, collaborates across departments, and drives publication quality from concept to market.
In this role, you will oversee editorial teams, shape content strategy, manage schedules, and ensure books meet our standards for accuracy, tone, and reader engagement. You will also contribute to acquisitions, author relationships, and the development of new formats for diverse audiences.

Responsibility
- Lead and mentor a team of editors, copyeditors, and production staff to deliver high-quality titles on schedule.
- Collaborate with acquisitions, marketing, design, and production to shape editorial strategy and book momentum.
- Develop editorial calendars, set quality standards, and monitor progress against milestones.
- Review and approve manuscripts, track edits, and ensure consistency of tone and voice across series.
- Manage author relationships, contract negotiations, and feedback cycles with professionalism.
- Coordinate with rights and licensing teams for international and digital editions.
- Analyze market trends and reader data to inform content development and positioning.
- Represent the imprint at industry events and maintain strong industry networks.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of editorial experience in trade publishing with a track record of successful titles.
- Exceptional copyediting, fact-checking, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple titles simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities with authors, agents, and internal stakeholders.
- Experience with digital publishing, metadata, and content management systems.
- Strategic thinker with a reader-first mindset and a passion for storytelling across genres.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage ambiguity.
