Responsibility
- Investigate and report high-impact stories across assigned beats with accuracy and fairness
- Develop a robust network of sources and verify information under tight deadlines
- Write clear, concise, engaging copy in line with AP style
- Produce multimedia content including photos, video clips, and data visualizations
- Collaborate with editors on editorial direction and breaking news coverage
- Mentor junior reporters and contribute to newsroom training
- Fact-check, edit, and ensure journalistic integrity
- Pitch and own exclusive stories that drive audience growth
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
- 5+ years of professional reporting experience in a newsroom
- Strong mastery of AP style and newsroom ethics
- Proven investigative reporting skills and ability to work under deadline pressure
- Excellent interviewing, writing, and editing abilities
- Experience with data journalism and basic HTML/SEO
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, diverse newsroom
- Willingness to travel as needed for coverage
