Aurora Media Group is seeking a determined Senior Reporter to join our NYC newsroom. You will craft compelling, accurate news stories for digital and print, mentor junior reporters, and contribute to our investigative projects.

Responsibility
- Produce high-quality, timely news stories for digital platforms and print, with emphasis on clarity and accuracy.
- Conduct interviews with diverse sources and verify facts through rigorous research.
- Write clear, engaging copy in AP style for websites, newsletters, and print editions.
- Collaborate with editors, photographers, and data journalists to develop compelling enterprise pieces.
- Edit and fact-check colleagues' copy to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Develop and pitch enterprise investigations, trend analyses, and long-form features.
- Optimize content for search engines and audience engagement while adhering to newsroom ethics.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field; master’s preferred.
- 3+ years of newsroom experience with a track record of breaking stories.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with strong AP style proficiency.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
- Experience with CMS (WordPress or similar), multimedia storytelling, and data journalism basics.
- Strong investigative instincts, sources development, and ethical reporting practices.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and newsroom teamwork abilities.
