Job description
Lumina Institute for Advanced Studies seeks a results-driven Senior Research Analyst to lead and support academic research projects across social sciences and STEM disciplines. You will contribute to study design, data collection, rigorous analysis, and the dissemination of findings through reports, scholarly publications, and presentations. As a key member of our research analytics team, you will help shape methodological approaches, ensure research integrity, and mentor junior researchers while advancing impactful scholarly outcomes.
Responsibility
- Design, plan, and manage research studies from conceptualization to execution, including sampling, instrumentation, and ethics approvals.
- Clean, analyze, and model data using Python, R, SQL, and appropriate statistical methods; create reproducible workflows.
- Collaborate with faculty and researchers to interpret results and translate them into actionable insights for stakeholders and publications.
- Prepare technical reports, manuscripts, grant proposals, conference abstracts, and data visualizations.
- Coordinate data collection efforts, manage project timelines, and ensure rigorous quality control and data provenance.
- Mentor research assistants and junior analysts, providing methodological guidance and training.
- Promote open science practices, data management plans, and transparent reporting standards.
Qualification
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Psychology, Sociology); PhD preferred.
- Proven track record in independent research and contributing to scholarly publications.
- Strong proficiency in Python or R, with experience in data wrangling, statistical analysis, and reproducible research workflows.
- Experience with SQL databases and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, ggplot2).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex results to diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of research ethics, IRB processes, and data privacy best practices.
