Join the Cambridge-based Cambridge Institute for Advanced Science as a Senior Research Scientist to lead ambitious, data-driven studies in biomedical science and computational research. This full-time role focuses on conceiving, executing, and interpreting experiments within a collaborative, grant-funded environment.
We seek a proactive investigator to develop innovative research strategies, manage data analysis pipelines, and contribute to high-impact publications. You will mentor graduate students and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to translate discoveries into real-world insights.
Responsibility
- Lead the conception, planning, and execution of independent research projects within the lab's strategic areas.
- Design rigorous experiments, develop computational analyses, and interpret complex datasets.
- Develop data pipelines, perform statistical analyses, and ensure reproducible research practices.
- Mentor and supervise graduate students and junior researchers, including training in methods and safety.
- Prepare grant applications and assist with reporting to funding agencies.
- Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to translate findings into actionable insights.
Qualification
- PhD in Life Sciences, Computer Science, or a closely related field with demonstrated research excellence.
- Minimum 3 years of post-PhD research experience; track record of high-impact publications.
- Proficiency in Python and R for data analysis; experience with SQL and MATLAB is a plus.
- Strong experimental design skills and experience with data visualization and statistical methods (e.g., regression, mixed models, Bayesian methods).
- Experience with grant writing and managing research funding; ability to communicate complex ideas clearly.
- Excellent collaboration, leadership, and mentoring abilities; strong written and oral communication skills.
