Job description
NovaBio Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Scientist in Biotechnology to lead innovative research in bioprocess development and genomics. This role offers significant opportunities to drive translational science from concept to early-stage development within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
As a key member of our R&D team, you will design and execute experiments, interpret complex datasets, and contribute to strategy and IP generation while working closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory teams to enable successful technology transfer.
Responsibility
- Design, optimize, and execute experiments in bioprocess development and genomic assay workflows.
- Develop and validate analytical methods (qPCR, RT-qPCR, RNA-Seq) and assays for product characterization.
- Analyze experimental data, generate clear technical findings, and present results to stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional projects with Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory teams to enable scale-up and tech transfer.
- Maintain rigorous documentation, SOPs, and compliance with GLP/GMP requirements.
- Mentor and train junior scientists; foster a culture of scientific curiosity and rigor.
- Identify opportunities for IP generation and contribute to patent strategy and invention disclosures.
Qualification
- PhD in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field, or MS with 5+ years of industry experience.
- 5+ years experience in biotech R&D, with hands-on experience in protein expression, assay development, and analytical methods.
- Proficient with genomic technologies (qPCR, RT-qPCR, RNA-Seq) and data analysis pipelines (R, Python).
- Strong statistical foundation, experimental design, and data interpretation skills.
- Experience with GMP/GLP, regulatory awareness, and documentation (SOPs, deviation reports).
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and project management skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Publication track record and experience with IP development (invention disclosures) is a plus.
