Job description
Join NovaBio Therapeutics, a leader in transformative biotechnology, as a Senior Scientist specializing in Genomics and Bioinformatics. This is a hands-on, collaborative role focused on translating genomic data into actionable insights that advance our pipeline from discovery to development.
In this role you will design and execute sequencing-based experiments, manage data processing pipelines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact results.
We offer a competitive compensation package, flexible work arrangements, and a vibrant research environment in the Cambridge biotech corridor.
Responsibility
- Lead design and execution of genomics experiments (DNA/RNA sequencing) and contribute to experimental strategy.
- Develop and maintain scalable data processing pipelines for RNA-seq, whole-genome sequencing (WGS), and single-cell RNA-seq (scRNA-seq).
- Perform statistical analyses, interpret results, and translate findings into actionable hypotheses for the team.
- Collaborate with bioinformatics and wet-lab teams to translate genomic data into pipeline improvements and therapeutic insights.
- Ensure data quality, reproducibility, and thorough documentation; promote best practices for data governance.
- Publish findings in internal reports and contribute to external publications and grant proposals.
- Mentor junior scientists and oversee assay development, data analysis, and method validation.
Qualification
- PhD in Genomics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field; or a Masterβs degree with substantial industry experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on genomics and computational analysis in a biotech or academic setting.
- Proficiency in programming languages (Python, R) and bioinformatics tools (GATK, STAR, salmon, HISAT2, DESeq2).
- Extensive experience with RNA-seq, WGS, scRNA-seq, and multi-omics data integration.
- Strong statistical background and experimental design skills; ability to translate data into actionable decisions.
- Experience with cloud computing (AWS/GCP) and high-performance computing environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
