BioNova Therapeutics is seeking a talented Senior Scientist to join our Genomics and Cell Biology group in Cambridge, MA. This role drives discovery programs, builds robust assay platforms, and supports translation to preclinical development. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to push forward cutting edge gene therapy initiatives and deliver high-impact scientific insights.
In this role you will design experiments, optimize analytical methods, and communicate findings to stakeholders and senior leadership. We value curiosity, collaboration, and a passion for translating biology into therapeutic advances.
Responsibility
- Design and execute in vitro and in vivo experiments to advance gene therapy and cell biology programs.
- Develop, optimize, and validate molecular and cellular assays including qPCR, ELISA, Western blot, and flow cytometry.
- Analyze data, generate actionable insights, and prepare technical reports for cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with discovery, translational science, and manufacturing to meet project milestones.
- Maintain rigorous documentation, SOPs, and GLP/GMP-compliant practices.
- Mentor junior scientists and provide technical training to the team.
- Present findings at internal reviews and external conferences and contribute to publications.
Qualification
- PhD in Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field; or MS with significant industry experience.
- 5+ years of lab experience in genomics, cell biology, and assay development.
- Technical expertise in qPCR, ELISA, Western blot, flow cytometry, and CRISPR gene editing.
- Proficiency in data analysis using Python and R; experience with bioinformatics tools is a plus.
- Strong experimental design skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex assays.
- Familiarity with GLP/GMP practices and regulatory documentation.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring abilities.
