VerbaNova Global is seeking a highly skilled Translation Specialist to join our growing localization team in New York or remotely across the United States. This role combines linguistic excellence with rigorous QA, ensuring content resonates with diverse audiences while preserving brand voice.
As a Translation Specialist, you will translate, localize, and quality-check content across industries, collaborating with project managers, editors, and localization engineers to deliver accurate, on-brand materials on time.
What you’ll do includes collaborating on multilingual projects, maintaining glossaries, and refining translation memories to improve throughput and consistency.
Responsibility
- Translate content from source languages into target languages with high accuracy, ensuring cultural relevance and brand voice.
- Localize materials for regional markets, adapting content for regulatory and audience-specific considerations.
- Maintain and grow translation memories and term bases, ensuring consistency across all projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, editors, and QA specialists to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Review machine translation output and perform post editing to meet client expectations.
- Develop and manage glossaries to support scalable localization and terminology accuracy.
- Perform quality assurance checks, linguistic testing, and style conformance before delivery.
- Provide feedback and guidance to junior translators to uphold quality and efficiency.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in translation, linguistics, languages, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 3+ years of professional translation or localization experience across multiple domains.
- Fluency in English plus at least one additional language; native-level proficiency preferred.
- Strong knowledge of localization best practices and terminology management.
- Hands-on experience with CAT tools (eg SDL Trados Studio, MemoQ, Memsource) and glossary management.
- Excellent proofreading, editing, research, and attention to detail; strong time management and organizational skills.
- Experience with MTPE and quality assurance processes; ability to work across multiple projects and teams.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; US work authorization required.
