Job description

GlobalLingua Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Translator (English to French) to join our Toronto localization team. You will translate, adapt, and quality-check high-profile content for technology, marketing, and product documentation, ensuring accuracy and cultural relevance for Canadian French-speaking audiences.

In this role, you’ll collaborate with product, legal, and marketing teams, uphold style guides, and maintain terminology databases to support fast, scalable localization across multiple channels.

Responsibility

  • Translate and localize content from English to French (EN to FR) with accuracy and natural tone.
  • Localize idioms, cultural references, and regulatory terms for Canadian audiences.
  • Manage and maintain glossaries and term banks in CAT tools (SDL Trados Studio, MemoQ, Memsource).
  • QA and proofreading of translations; perform consistency checks against style guides.
  • Collaborate with product, legal, and marketing teams to meet project requirements and deadlines.
  • Provide feedback to content creators to improve source materials for localization.
  • Support the development of multilingual content strategies and translation memory optimization.
  • Track project status, deliver on time, and maintain high-quality standards.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, or related field; master's is a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional EN to FR translation experience, preferably in tech or marketing.
  • Proficiency with CAT tools (SDL Trados Studio, MemoQ, Memsource).
  • Excellent bilingual writing and editing skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Strong terminology management and adherence to style guides; ability to create and maintain glossaries.
  • Familiarity with Canadian French language norms and regulatory considerations.
  • Portfolio of translation samples and, if possible, references from previous clients or employers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
