Responsibility
- Translate documents, websites, and multimedia from English to target languages, preserving meaning, tone, and style.
- Localize content for regional markets, including cultural adaptation and regulatory considerations.
- Maintain translation memory and terminology databases to ensure consistency across projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, editors, and clients to scope projects, estimate timelines, and manage delivery schedules.
- Proofread, edit, and QA translated material; incorporate client feedback and QA results.
- Develop and update glossaries, style guides, and onboarding materials for translators.
- Mentor and train junior translators and freelancers; review their work for quality and accuracy.
- Support SEO localization efforts and ensure translations optimize discoverability in target languages.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Native-level proficiency in English plus at least one additional language (e.g., Spanish, French, German).
- 5+ years of professional translation/localization experience across multiple industries.
- Proficiency with CAT tools (Trados Studio, memoQ, Memsource) and QA software.
- Strong terminology management skills and ability to develop and maintain glossaries and style guides.
- Excellent editing, proofreading, and intercultural communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Professional certification in translation (e.g., ATA, ITI) is a plus.
