GreenFlow Waste Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Senior Waste Program Manager to lead our municipal and commercial waste initiatives in the San Jose area. You will design and execute waste reduction programs, oversee recycling and organics strategies, ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver measurable sustainability outcomes.
In this role, you will manage programs from conception through implementation, work with vendors and contractors, monitor performance metrics, and report results to leadership. The ideal candidate is proactive, data-driven, and excels at stakeholder communication.
Responsibility
- Develop and lead comprehensive waste management programs across recycling, organics, e-waste, and hazardous waste streams.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (RCRA, CWA, CALRecycle, OSHA) and manage permit renewals and audits.
- Oversee budgeting, vendor selection, and contract management for waste services to optimize cost and service quality.
- Analyze program data, create KPI dashboards, and drive continuous improvements in diversion rates and waste-to-resource metrics.
- Collaborate with operations, facilities, and sustainability teams to execute projects on time and within scope.
- Engage with municipal partners, customers, and community stakeholders to communicate programs and outcomes.
- Lead regulatory reporting, sustainability disclosures, and executive-level updates on performance and risk.
- Manage project plans, risk assessments, and cross-functional communications to ensure successful program delivery.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in waste management, environmental compliance, or sustainability program leadership.
- Strong knowledge of waste regulations (RCRA, CWA, CALRecycle) and waste tracking systems.
- Proven data analysis skills with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Project management certification (PMP or equivalent) is a plus.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% as needed and valid driver's license.
