Join GreenFuture Solutions as a Waste Management Operations Manager and lead strategic waste programs across a major metropolitan area. You will steer recycling initiatives, hazardous materials handling, and landfill optimization while ensuring regulatory compliance and driving cost efficiencies.
We seek a data-driven leader with hands-on experience in environmental policy, project leadership, and vendor partnerships. You will collaborate with municipal agencies, facilities, and field teams to deliver sustainable, compliant waste solutions.
Responsibility
- Develop and implement comprehensive waste management strategies for municipal and industrial clients.
- Lead cross-functional teams to optimize recycling, composting, and diversion metrics.
- Manage regulatory compliance with EPA, OSHA, and state environmental agencies; oversee permits and reporting.
- Coordinate with vendors, haulers, and contractors to ensure service excellence and cost control.
- Prepare budgets, track KPIs, and report performance to leadership and clients.
- Drive safety programs and incident investigations to maintain strong OCC/Safety records.
- Lead sustainability initiatives and client education programs on waste reduction.
- Oversee data management and analytics to identify improvement opportunities and cost savings.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in waste management, environmental compliance, or a related operations role.
- Strong knowledge of RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, and state environmental regulations.
- Proven project management and vendor management skills; PMI or similar certification a plus.
- Excellent data analysis and reporting abilities; proficiency with MS Excel, SQL, or data platforms.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed within the service area.
