GreenFlow Waste Solutions, a premier environmental services company, is seeking a Waste Management Specialist to optimize our waste operations and sustainability programs in the Phoenix area.
In this role, you will partner with operations, safety, and client teams to deliver safe, compliant, and cost effective waste and recycling solutions for municipal and commercial accounts. You will lead data-driven routing, regulatory compliance, and performance improvements across our portfolio of clients.
Responsibility
- Develop and optimize waste collection routes and schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize emissions.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal waste regulations; coordinate permits and reporting.
- Analyze program performance using data-driven metrics; prepare regular performance and sustainability reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement recycling and waste diversion initiatives.
- Manage vendor relationships and service level agreements with haulers, recycling facilities, and transfer stations.
- Lead safety training and ensure adherence to OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies.
- Support business development efforts with waste management proposals and client engagements.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Geography, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in waste management, environmental services, or related operations.
- Strong knowledge of hazardous and non-hazardous waste regulations (EPA, DOT, state/local requirements).
- Proficiency with data analysis, routing optimization, and reporting tools (Excel, SQL, GIS, or equivalent).
- Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25% and operate in field and office settings.
- Safety-focused mindset with relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 10, waste handling training).
