GreenSphere Solutions is looking for a results driven Waste Management Project Manager to lead strategic waste reduction and recycling initiatives for municipal and commercial clients in the Austin region. This role combines program management, technical expertise, and strong stakeholder collaboration to deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, and environmental impact. In this role you will partner with clients, operations teams, and regulators to design and execute programs that optimize collection, processing, and disposal activities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and standards.
Responsibility
- Lead end to end waste management projects from scoping through delivery, ensuring on time, within budget, and high quality outcomes.
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, risk registers, and performance dashboards for stakeholders.
- Coordinate cross functional teams including operations, engineering, regulatory affairs, and data analytics.
- Identify opportunities for waste reduction, recycling improvement, and process optimization across client sites.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and reporting requirements.
- Provide data driven insights and ESG reporting to clients and leadership.
- Communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and internal teams, translating complex technical concepts into clear recommendations.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to business development through compelling proposals.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, earth sciences, or a related field; master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in waste management, recycling, or environmental compliance, with demonstrated project management experience.
- PM certification such as PMP, or equivalent; experience with Agile or similar methodologies is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations (EPA, RCRA, local waste policies) and permitting processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and data interpretation skills; proficient in data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar).
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities; proven client facing experience.
- Ability to lead cross functional teams, manage competing priorities, and travel as required (up to 25%).
