Asurion is seeking a Software Engineer II to join our data-driven product teams in the Philippines. This role focuses on delivering robust database-oriented software and SQL-driven solutions that enhance customer experiences and operational efficiency. You will work hands-on with Oracle databases and complex SQL queries to design, build, optimize, and maintain services that power customer support platforms and analytics dashboards. You will translate business problems into scalable technical solutions, write clean, well-tested code, and participate in code reviews to ensure quality, performance, and maintainability. A collaborative mindset and strong communication skills are essential as you partner across product, engineering, and customer care teams.
In this role, you will design data models, implement database features, and ensure data integrity and security. You will optimize queries, tune performance, and implement robust error handling and monitoring. You will contribute to the evolution of our data platforms, participate in testing and deployment pipelines, and document technical designs for knowledge sharing and operational runbooks.

Responsibility
- Design, develop, and maintain database-driven features and services powering customer support platforms using SQL and Oracle.
- Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures, and PL/SQL blocks; optimize for performance and scalability.
- Collaborate with product managers, data analysts, and engineers to translate requirements into technical specifications and implementation plans.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance in all database-related activities; implement robust error handling and monitoring.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines; contribute to automated testing and quality assurance.
- Troubleshoot production issues, diagnose bottlenecks, and implement solutions to minimize downtime and impact on customers.
- Prepare technical documentation and operational runbooks; mentor junior engineers and share knowledge with teammates.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of software engineering experience with SQL and Oracle databases.
- Strong SQL skills with experience writing complex queries, optimization, and data modeling.
- Experience with PL/SQL or similar procedural extensions; familiarity with data warehousing, ETL, or reporting is a plus.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle, testing, and CI/CD practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and analytical thinking with a customer-focused mindset.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
