Responsibility
- Provide specialized medical care to patients with complex, rare, or challenging conditions within the focus area, delivering evidence-based treatments.
- Lead and participate in clinical research protocols, including study design, patient recruitment, data collection, monitoring, and analysis.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized, outcome-driven treatment plans.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, informed consent, and meticulous documentation in EHRs and research records (IRB, HIPAA, FDA requirements).
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, risks, benefits, and prognosis to support informed decisions.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, performance metrics, and dissemination of findings through internal and external channels.
- Mentor junior clinicians, residents, and fellows; lead teaching sessions and professional development activities.
Qualification
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in a relevant specialty; fellowship in specialized medicine is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in specialized medicine or related clinical research setting.
- Proven track record in clinical trials, protocol development, data management, and statistical interpretation.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and research data management; strong knowledge of IRB, HIPAA, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and patient-centered care capabilities; ability to work across cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Active medical licensure in Massachusetts or eligibility to obtain licensure.
