Responsibility

  • Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to clients and families.
  • Perform routine exams, risk assessments, and newborn evaluations in collaboration with physicians as needed.
  • Support labor and birth with evidence-based practices and available pain management options.
  • Develop individualized birth plans and advocate for informed decision-making and informed consent.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, doulas, nurses, and other care team members to ensure seamless care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and uphold regulatory and safety standards.
  • Educate families on breastfeeding, newborn care, postpartum recovery, and self-care strategies.

Qualification

  • Current Washington state CNM or CPM license and board certification as applicable.
  • Minimum 3+ years of professional midwifery experience; hospital or community birth settings acceptable.
  • Active BLS and NRP certifications; ACLS preferred depending on role.
  • Excellent communication, patient advocacy, and teamwork abilities.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based maternity care, neonatal resuscitation, and pain management.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and participate in on-call rotations.
  • Commitment to culturally competent care and serving diverse populations.
