Renesas, a global leader in semiconductor solutions, is seeking a Sr. Mgr, Production Planning to join our Ipoh, Malaysia site. In this pivotal role, you will own demand planning (forecast vs actual demand), supply planning, and the build strategy for all products sourced from third-party vendors. You will partner with product management, manufacturing, procurement, and logistics to translate demand signals into executable supply plans, ensure on-time delivery, and optimize working capital. The successful candidate will drive the S&OP process, develop accurate short- and long-term forecasts, and maintain a robust master production schedule that aligns with capacity constraints. You will lead capacity planning, material requirements planning (MRP), and inventory management, while identifying and mitigating supply risks. This is a highly collaborative, data-driven role requiring strong analytical skills, stakeholder influence, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end demand planning and supply planning for all Renesas products sourced from third-party vendors, developing accurate forecasts and robust build strategies.
- Manage the master production schedule (MPS) and material requirements planning (MRP) to ensure feasible production plans that maximize capacity utilization.
- Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics to optimize inventory, lead times, and vendor performance; drive risk mitigation and contingency planning.
- Own the S&OP process, prepare executive reviews, and communicate forecast accuracy, service levels, and capacity needs to senior leadership.
- Monitor and improve KPIs such as service level, on-time delivery, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, and obsolescence reduction.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing planning team; promote data-driven decision making and continuous improvement in processes.
- Implement and advocate Lean, Six Sigma, and other best practices to optimize production planning and capacity utilization.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards, and align with Renesas corporate policies and vendor expectations.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in production planning or demand planning within manufacturing; electronics or semiconductor experience is a plus.
- Strong proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE) and advanced Excel; familiarity with SAP APO/IBP is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable plans; strong forecasting capability.
- Demonstrated leadership and cross-functional collaboration; ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation; adept at managing third-party manufacturers.
- Effective communication skills in English; local language skills are a plus.
- Knowledge of S&OP, Lean manufacturing, inventory optimization, and KPI tracking.
