Aurora Media Network is seeking a dynamic Staff Journalist to join our New York newsroom. You will report on breaking news, develop in-depth features, and contribute to digital storytelling across our platforms. Responsibility
- Report on daily and breaking news with accuracy and speed
- Develop source networks, conduct interviews, and verify information
- Collaborate with editors on story concepts, headlines, and packaging
- Draft, edit, and fact-check copy following AP style and newsroom standards
- Produce longer-form features and investigative pieces
- Contribute to digital storytelling through multimedia elements
- Mentor interns and contribute to newsroom training
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field
- Minimum of 5 years newsroom reporting experience
- Strong reporting, writing, and editing skills with a portfolio of published work
- Familiarity with AP Style and newsroom workflows
- Experience with data journalism and fact-checking
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple assignments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
