Join Aurora Theatre Collective, a dynamic producing company based in New York City, as a full-time Stage Manager. You will guide productions from rehearsal through closing performance, ensuring artistic integrity, safety, and seamless audience experiences.
As a Stage Manager, you will be the communication hub for directors, designers, technicians, and performers, coordinating schedules, cues, and calls with precision and tact.

Responsibility
- Lead the production process from rehearsal to performance, tracking blocking, cues, and show rhythm.
- Manage stage calls, rehearsals, and on-call notes; ensure timely and accurate cueing.
- Coordinate with directors, designers, stage crew, and producers to maintain creative vision and practical feasibility.
- Oversee load-in/load-out, strike, and inventory control of all props and equipment.
- Maintain the show bible, prompt book, and communication logs for all productions.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed and compliance with union contracts and venue policies.
- Troubleshoot technical issues in real time and liaise with technicians during performances.
- Support cast and crew with clear communication and calm leadership under pressure.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in theatre, stage management, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years of stage management experience in professional theatre, preferred in NYC venues.
- Proficiency with QLab, lighting and sound consoles, and basic fly/rigging terminology; familiarity with AV and video cues is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multi-show load-ins, calls, and scheduling while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required by productions.
