As a full-time Dance Instructor, you will lead classes across Contemporary and Ballet (with Jazz as needed), choreograph original routines for showcases, and collaborate with the Artistic Director on seasonal programs.

Responsibility

  • Lead high-quality dance classes across Contemporary, Ballet, and Jazz for all levels.
  • Design progressive curricula, track student progress, and maintain attendance records.
  • Choreograph original routines for showcases and community performances.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and motivating studio environment; enforce safety protocols and proper warm-ups.
  • Collaborate with the Artistic Director and guest instructors on seasonal programs and auditions.
  • Mentor apprentices and assist with audition preparation and career guidance.
  • Represent the studio at outreach events, rehearsals, and performances; participate in marketing initiatives.
  • Maintain studio equipment, cleanliness, and inventory; manage class materials and media.

Qualification

  • 3+ years of professional dance teaching experience in Ballet and Contemporary.
  • Strong technique in Ballet and Contemporary with ability to teach multiple levels.
  • Proven choreography and creative collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Dance or related field; BFA/MFA preferred.
  • Excellent communication, mentorship, and classroom management abilities.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends; availability for performances and events.
  • First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain; commitment to safe studio practices.
  • U.S. work authorization and eligibility to work in New York City.
