Join Aurora Stageworks as a Theatre Production Manager in New York City. This role leads cross-functional collaboration to deliver outstanding live theatre experiences that captivate audiences and support artists.
You will partner with producers, directors, designers, and stage management to plan and execute productions, from initial concept through opening night and beyond.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation across multiple shows.
- Develop and manage production budgets, timelines, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with designers, stage managers, technical crews, and vendors to ensure seamless operations.
- Oversee venue logistics, load-in/load-out, and on-site safety compliance.
- Monitor quality and ensure artistic integrity while optimizing operational efficiency.
- Communicate with stakeholders and provide regular progress updates and reports.
- Mentor and supervise junior staff, interns, and freelance crews.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, Arts Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Minimum 4 years of production management or equivalent experience in theatre or live events.
- Strong budgeting, scheduling, and vendor negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven experience with safety regulations, risk assessment, and on-site logistics.
- Proficiency with production software and Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with venue management systems a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
