Nova Theatre Collective, a premier theatre company in New York City, is seeking a dynamic Stage Manager to join our collaborative team. This full-time position supports bold productions from rehearsals through closing night, ensuring artistic integrity, safety, and seamless live performances.
As Stage Manager, you will coordinate all on-site logistics, manage prompt books, run sheets, and communication between directors, designers, and performers. You will lead timely cueing, call rehearsals and performances, and uphold professional rehearsal etiquette in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibility
- Lead stage management operations for rehearsals and performances, ensuring smooth runs from cue-to-cue and safety compliance.
- Prepare and distribute call sheets, rehearsal reports, and cue sheets; maintain the show's prompt book.
- Collaborate with directors, designers, stage crew, and production teams to execute artistic decisions.
- Manage on-site communications, script changes, and problem-solving during performances.
- Supervise stage crew, prop handling, set changes, and cue execution using QLab or equivalent systems.
- Maintain accurate production records and post-show reports; track inventory and costumes as needed.
- Ensure compliance with venue policies, union agreements, and safety standards.
- Oversee rehearsals and run-throughs, and mentor junior stage management staff.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in theatre, production, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 2-4 years of stage management experience in live theatre or related performing arts environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with keen attention to detail and multitasking ability.
- Proficiency with show cueing systems (QLab) and basic sound and lighting knowledge.
- Ability to adapt to changing schedules, long workdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure during live performances.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to lead a team and manage diverse cast and crew.
- Keen knowledge of safety protocols and risk assessment in theatre settings.
