Nova Dance Collective is seeking a dedicated Dance Instructor & Choreographer to join our dynamic team in New York City. This full-time role combines teaching, creative development, and performance collaboration.
As a key member of our artistic staff, you will lead classes, develop repertoire, and mentor dancers across levels to meet high artistic standards and technical excellence.

Responsibility
- Lead and choreograph progressive curricula for contemporary, ballet, and rhythm-based styles across beginner to advanced levels.
- Plan and conduct engaging group classes, workshops, and masterclasses with a focus on technique, artistry, and safety.
- Collaborate with the Artistic Director to develop seasonal repertoires and prepare company productions.
- Direct rehearsals, run-throughs, and technical rehearsals for studio and performance events.
- Coach dancers for auditions, performances, and showcases; provide constructive feedback and progress tracking.
- Maintain a safe studio environment; monitor warm-ups, injury prevention, and proper alignment.
- Mentor students in artistry, musicality, and professional development; manage attendance and class documentation.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Dance or equivalent professional experience in performance/teaching.
- Minimum 4 years of teaching or professional dance experience in a studio or company setting.
- Proficiency in at least two dance styles (e.g., contemporary, ballet, hip-hop) with strong technique.
- Demonstrated ability to choreograph original works and contribute to repertory development; portfolio required.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and classroom management skills.
- Willingness to work evenings and occasional weekends; ability to travel for performances as needed.
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 3 months.
