Eppendorf is seeking a results-driven Supplier Quality Manager to lead our supplier quality program in Malaysia. With 5–10 years of experience in supplier quality management, technical procurement, or related fields, you will partner with global manufacturing teams to ensure high-quality, compliant, and reliable supply for our lab instruments and consumables. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who combines quality rigor with strategic supplier development.
As a member of the Supply Chain leadership, you will own supplier qualification, qualification of new suppliers, supplier risk assessment, and the governance of quality agreements. You will design and implement supplier audit programs, manage CAPA and remediation, and monitor supplier performance using robust KPIs such as on-time delivery, defect rates, and process capability.
You will collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to enable new product introductions, drive continuous improvement, and ensure alignment with ISO 9001 and regulatory requirements. A data-driven mindset, excellent communication, and project management skills are essential to succeed in this role.
What you will bring: a minimum 5–10 years' experience in supplier quality or related fields; strong knowledge of quality management systems, risk management, and supplier development; proficiency with ERP and QA software; and demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibility
- Lead and govern the supplier quality program for Eppendorf in Malaysia and APAC, ensuring compliance with global quality standards and customer requirements.
- Develop and maintain supplier qualification criteria, quality agreements, and risk-based supplier segmentation to prioritize improvement activities.
- Plan, conduct, and oversee supplier audits (internal and external), CAPA, remediation, and closure tracking; drive supplier development plans.
- Monitor supplier performance using KPIs such as on-time delivery, defect rates, first-pass yield, process capability, and corrective action closure times.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Engineering, and Manufacturing during new product introductions to qualify suppliers and ensure robust change control and documentation.
- Manage supplier change control, quality documentation, and ensure traceability of components and materials.
- Lead root cause analysis and cross-functional problem solving with suppliers to reduce risk and ensure long-term quality.
- Build a culture of continuous improvement with suppliers through training, process enhancements, and shared metrics.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Quality Management, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 5-10+ years of supplier quality management, technical procurement, or related experience.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001) and supplier audit techniques; GMP knowledge is a plus.
- Proven experience with supplier qualification, CAPA, risk management, and supplier development programs.
- Proficiency with ERP systems and QA software; strong data analytics, Excel, and dashboards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Project management experience; ability to lead multiple supplier programs in parallel.
- Fluency in English; additional local language (Malay) or regional language skills are a plus.
