In this front-line role, you will be the friendly face and efficient operator responsible for selling ferry tickets, guiding passengers on routes, schedules, and fares, and handling cash with accuracy. As a Ticketing Clerk, you will be entrusted with delivering a seamless travel experience from the moment passengers approach the counter. You will set the tone for excellent service, process transactions efficiently, and support boarding operations by providing clear information and timely ticket issuance.
Responsibility
- Sell ferry tickets based on passenger route, date and time, including seating category, and issue accurate tickets promptly.
- Process cash payments securely, manage the point of sale system, and handle refunds or changes in accordance with policy.
- Provide accurate route information, schedules, prices, and travel guidance; respond to passenger inquiries with empathy and clarity.
- Maintain a neat and compliant ticketing area, manage queues, and assist with boarding handoffs as needed.
- Ensure data accuracy in ticketing software and ticket stock reconciliation; escalate discrepancies to supervision.
- Collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure a smooth passenger experience and safe, on-time departures.
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
- Minimum experience in cash handling or teller roles is a plus.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills in English; local language proficiency helpful.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with ticketing or POS systems; accurate data entry skills.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment; flexible with shift schedules including weekends.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and a collaborative team attitude.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the maritime passenger services industry.
