Join Crescent City Explorers as a licensed Tour Guide in New Orleans. Lead engaging walking, bus, and specialty tours focused on history, culture, music, and cuisine. You will craft memorable experiences, ensure guest safety, and uphold our high standards of service.
As a Tour Guide, you’ll partner with our operations team to plan itineraries, greet guests, manage crowd flow, and share captivating stories with energy and authenticity. This role suits dynamic communicators fluent in English (additional languages are a plus) who thrive in fast-paced, customer-centric environments.
Responsibility
- Lead engaging tours for groups of varied sizes, delivering accurate historical and cultural narratives.
- Deliver local lore and insights about neighborhoods, architecture, music, food, and notable sites.
- Prioritize guest safety, manage crowd flow, and enforce site policies and safety guidelines.
- Coordinate with operations to plan itineraries, modify routes due to weather or crowd conditions.
- Provide exceptional customer service, handle inquiries, and resolve issues with professionalism.
- Maintain current knowledge of local attractions, permits, and city regulations.
- Represent the company brand with punctuality, professionalism, and a friendly, engaging demeanor.
- Assist in onboarding and mentoring new guides as needed.
Qualification
- Minimum 2 years experience as a tour guide or in hospitality/customer service.
- Excellent public speaking and storytelling abilities.
- Fluent English; additional languages such as Spanish, French, or Portuguese are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of New Orleans history, culture, and major districts.
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Licensed tour guide certification or willingness to obtain local licensing.
- First aid certification and safety awareness; comfortable handling crowd dynamics.
- Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving aptitude, and a customer-focused mindset.
