Responsibility
- Perform onboard fare inspections on assigned routes within the East Region to verify valid tickets, cards or concession passes.
- Check and verify travellers' tickets and passes, document violations, and escalate issues to supervisors following company procedures.
- Engage with passengers in a courteous manner, explain fare rules, and provide directions or assistance as needed.
- Collaborate with bus operators, depot staff and security to maintain service standards and safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and incidents using handheld devices or paper logs, ensuring data integrity.
- Adhere to safety rules, company policies and regulatory requirements during patrols and inspections.
- Participate in ongoing training on fare policies, safety protocols and customer service excellence.
- Respond to fare-related inquiries and incidents efficiently, escalating to the appropriate teams when required.
Qualification
- Minimum secondary education or equivalent; good numeracy and observation skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities; ability to handle difficult passengers professionally.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods and inspect moving vehicles safely.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, sound decisions in busy environments.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
- Fluency in English; additional languages such as Mandarin, Malay, or Tamil are a plus.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with tablets or handheld devices for inspections and reporting.
