Responsibility
- Translate and localize content from multiple source languages into English (and vice versa) while preserving meaning, tone, and cultural nuance.
- Manage terminology and style guides; maintain translation memories using CAT tools to ensure consistency across projects.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and legal teams to deliver accurate, on-brand materials on schedule.
- Edit, proofread, and QA translations to ensure top-tier quality and regulatory compliance where relevant.
- Coordinate small translation projects and liaise with external vendors as needed; track milestones and provide regular status updates.
- Apply localization best practices, including SEO localization, date/number formats, and UK regulatory considerations.
- Identify process improvements, contribute to knowledge bases, and support training initiatives for the localization team.
- Uphold data privacy and security standards when handling confidential content.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Translation, Linguistics, Languages, or a related field.
- Native-level English with professional experience in at least two additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, German).
- 3+ years of professional translation/localization experience, with a track record in technology, finance, or healthcare domains.
- Proficiency with CAT tools (MemoQ, SDL Trados, Memsource, Across) and translation memory management.
- Strong editing, proofreading, and linguistic QA skills; exceptional attention to detail and style consistency.
- Solid knowledge of localization best practices, SEO localization, and terminology management.
- Excellent project management and time-management abilities; capable of handling multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
