Job description

Origo is seeking a meticulous and proactive US Payroll Specialist to join our finance team in the Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the accurate processing of US payroll for a diverse workforce, ensuring timely payments and strict compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements. You will partner with HR, accounting, and third-party providers to maintain data integrity, resolve issues promptly, and support a smooth payroll cycle across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities include managing payroll inputs, validating timekeeping records, calculating wages, deductions, and benefits, and processing payroll runs in our payroll system. You will stay up-to-date on changing US tax laws and regulatory requirements, prepare payroll reports for management, and coordinate any necessary tax filings and year-end processing. You will also support audits, respond to employee inquiries with clear, timely communication, and uphold data privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Responsibility

  • Process bi-weekly/monthly US payroll for employees and contractors, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery.
  • Validate timekeeping data, wage calculations, deductions, and benefits in the payroll system.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local US payroll tax regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and file payroll tax returns, year-end processing, and benefits administration support.
  • Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts and payroll-related reports; collaborate with accounting for month-end closing.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and communicate changes clearly and professionally.
  • Support internal and external audits with complete, accurate payroll documentation and data privacy best practices.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of US payroll processing experience, preferably with US-based tax rules and multi-entity organizations.
  • Experience with US payroll platforms (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll) and HRIS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of US payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and benefits administration.
  • High attention to detail, data accuracy, and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools; ability to prepare clear payroll reports.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and external vendors.
  • Discretion and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of payroll data.
