As a key partner to fleet operations, you will deliver timely financial reporting, support budgeting and forecasting, and implement cost-control initiatives across fuel, port charges, maintenance, crewing, and other voyage-related costs. Your work will help optimize profitability while maintaining compliance with corporate policies and maritime regulations.

Responsibility

  • Monitor and validate vessel operating costs across fuel, port charges, maintenance, provisioning, crewing, insurance, and dry-docking; ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports and voyage accounting dashboards; analyze variances and present insights to fleet and finance teams.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimization initiatives for the fleet; identify opportunities to improve profitability without compromising safety and compliance.
  • Coordinate with vessel management, procurement, and shore-side accounting to validate invoices and ensure timely settlements.
  • Maintain robust financial controls and audit trails; ensure compliance with corporate policies and maritime regulations.
  • Assist in cash flow planning, working capital management, and vessel-level financial performance tracking.
  • Collaborate with operations to forecast fuel consumption, bunkering, and maintenance cycles; support dry-dock planning and provisioning.
  • Contribute to process improvements by documenting standard operating procedures and supporting system enhancements.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Maritime Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in cost control, budgeting, or vessel accounting within the shipping or maritime sector.
  • Experience with ERP systems (such as SAP or Oracle) and voyage accounting in a maritime environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Knowledge of maritime regulations, freight, bunkering, and voyage costing concepts.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills; proficient in English (additional languages are a plus).
  • Eligible to work in Singapore and willing to travel occasionally as required.
