Job description
GreenStream Waste Solutions is seeking a proactive Waste Management Lead to oversee and optimize our waste programs across multiple facilities. This role focuses on regulatory compliance, waste reduction, and operational excellence, with a strong emphasis on safety and sustainability.
As a key partner to operations, facilities, and EH&S teams, you will design and implement waste management strategies, manage budgets, and drive data-driven improvements in recycling, disposal, and hazardous waste handling.
Responsibility
- Develop and execute comprehensive waste management strategies across multiple facilities, ensuring regulatory compliance and cost efficiency.
- Lead hazardous waste management, permitting, and disposal activities in alignment with local, state, and federal requirements.
- Monitor and analyze waste generation data, identify reduction opportunities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage vendor relationships, procurement, and performance metrics for waste services including recycling, landfill, and transfer stations.
- Collaborate with EH&S, operations, and facility leadership to implement waste reduction programs and safe handling practices.
- Prepare and present reports to leadership and regulatory agencies; ensure accurate recordkeeping and reporting.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in waste management, environmental compliance, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of RCRA, DOT, EPCRA, and related regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with waste tracking systems and data analysis; proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with GIS is a plus.
- Proven project management and cross-functional leadership abilities; excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Certification such as CHMM or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to travel as needed (up to 20%).
