As a Waste Management Project Lead, you will collaborate with operations, engineering, and compliance teams to optimize waste collection, recycling, and disposal processes while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
Responsibility
- Lead cross-functional project teams to design, implement, and optimize waste collection, recycling, and disposal initiatives.
- Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk registers; monitor progress and adjust as needed.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permits.
- Coordinate with municipalities, haulers, and regulators to secure permits and approvals.
- Analyze data to identify cost savings, efficiency gains, and sustainability opportunities.
- Prepare executive summaries and stakeholder reports; present progress to leadership and clients.
- Drive continuous improvement through Lean/Six Sigma methodologies and technology adoption.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinators and foster a culture of safety and accountability.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in waste management, environmental compliance, or related operations.
- Proven project management experience; PMP or equivalent certification a plus.
- Strong knowledge of waste regulations (RCRA, TSCA, NEPA as applicable) and permitting processes.
- Excellent data analysis skills (Excel, Power BI, or similar) and ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management; ability to present to diverse audiences.
- Experience with sustainability reporting and lifecycle assessments is a plus.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% as required.
