Responsibility
- Develop and implement waste management strategies for municipal and industrial clients to optimize waste diversion and minimize disposal costs.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with RCRA, EPA, state and local requirements, and maintain up-to-date permits and documentation.
- Analyze waste streams, identify opportunities for recycling, organics programs, and material reuse.
- Manage vendor relationships, oversee landfill, transfer station, and processing operations, and monitor performance against KPIs.
- Lead data collection, reporting, and sustainability metrics; prepare client reports and regulatory submissions.
- Drive health and safety programs, conduct site audits, and ensure OSHA requirements are met across projects.
- Collaborate with clients, communities, and internal teams; develop training materials and stakeholder communications.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and technology adoption to enhance program outcomes.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Industrial Ecology, environmental science, or a related field.
- 5+ years in waste management, recycling, or sustainability program delivery.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations (RCRA, TSCA, EPA, state/local) and permitting processes.
- Experience with data analytics, Excel, GIS, and sustainability reporting (GRI, SASB, or similar frameworks).
- Project management and vendor management experience; excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience with waste auditing, diversion strategies, organics programs, and waste characterization.
- Professional certifications such as CHMM, CSP, LEED, or equivalent are a plus.
- Valid driver's license with ability to travel approximately 20% of the time.
