Boston University invites applications for an Academic Research Fellow to join our interdisciplinary research team in Boston, MA. This full-time position focuses on advancing scholarly work across neuroscience and psychology, with emphasis on rigorous study design, data analysis, and dissemination of findings.
The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty across departments, contribute to grant writing, and participate in the preparation of manuscripts suitable for peer-reviewed journals. The role offers mentorship, access to state-of-the-art facilities, and opportunities to lead independent projects.
Responsibility
- Collaborate with faculty to design, implement, and manage research studies across disciplines.
- Perform literature reviews and synthesize findings to inform study direction.
- Manage data collection, cleaning, curation, and QA processes.
- Analyze data using appropriate statistical methods and software (R, Python, SPSS).
- Visualize results and contribute to manuscript figures and tables.
- Prepare and present findings at lab meetings, seminars, and conferences.
- Assist with grant applications, reporting, and compliance with research protocols.
Qualification
- PhD in a relevant field or equivalent research experience in psychology, neuroscience, or related disciplines.
- Strong statistical background and experience with R and/or Python.
- Proven track record of scholarly publications and experience with peer-reviewed writing.
- Experience with study design, data management, and reproducible research workflows.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work cross-functionally.
- Familiarity with ethical guidelines and data privacy in research.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
