NovaQuant Institute is seeking a Senior Applied Mathematician to lead high-impact research projects at the intersection of mathematical modeling, data analytics, and algorithm design. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate theory into scalable, production-ready solutions that power advanced analytics across finance, technology, and healthcare.

Responsibility
- Lead the development of mathematical models for real-world problems across multiple domains (finance, technology, healthcare).
- Design and implement robust numerical algorithms for large-scale simulations and optimization problems.
- Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product teams to translate theoretical models into deployable solutions.
- Mentor and supervise junior mathematicians, postdocs, and PhD interns on research projects.
- Publish research findings, present at conferences, and contribute to grant proposals.
- Ensure code quality, reproducibility, and thorough documentation; drive unit testing and validation efforts.
- Contribute to the development of experimental designs, data pipelines, and performance benchmarks.
Qualification
- PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field (or equivalent industry experience).
- Strong background in mathematical modeling, numerical analysis, PDEs, and optimization.
- Proficiency in Python; experience with Julia, MATLAB, or R. C++ experience is a plus.
- Experience with high-performance computing, parallel computing, or large-scale simulation frameworks.
- Proven track record of research impact: publications, conference presentations, and/or successful grant proposals.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
