Job description
We are seeking a driven Academic Researcher to join the Institute for Advanced Research Studies in Cambridge, MA. You will lead and contribute to high‑impact research projects across disciplines, collaborate with graduate students, and translate findings into actionable insights for academic and policy audiences.
As a pivotal member of our research community, you will design studies, analyze complex datasets, and help disseminate discoveries through publications and presentations.
Responsibility
- Lead design and execution of research projects from hypothesis to dissemination across disciplines.
- Develop and implement robust statistical analyses and data visualizations to inform conclusions.
- Collaborate with faculty and researchers to shape research agendas and grant proposals.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication and present findings at internal and external conferences.
- Mentor and supervise graduate students and research staff to ensure high-quality outputs.
- Assist with grant writing, budgeting, and progress reporting to funding agencies.
- Ensure compliance with institutional review boards, data privacy, and ethical standards.
Qualification
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g., neuroscience, biology, psychology, data science) or equivalent research experience.
- Strong record of peer‑reviewed publications and scientific contribution.
- Proficiency in Python and R; experience with MATLAB, SAS, or similar tools is a plus.
- Experience with experimental design, statistical methods, and data management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Grant writing experience and familiarity with research funding processes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross‑functional team.
