PrimeAct Analytics is seeking a detail-oriented Actuarial Analyst to join our New York City office. This full-time role offers a hybrid work model and exposure to pricing, reserving, valuation, and risk analytics across diverse lines of business.
As part of our actuarial team, you will build and maintain models, perform data-driven analyses, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive profitability and risk management for our clients.
Responsibility
- Conduct actuarial pricing, reserving, and valuation tasks for insurance and retirement products across multiple lines of business.
- Develop, validate, and maintain pricing and reserving models using SQL, R, Python, or SAS.
- Analyze large datasets to extract insights and inform business decisions related to profitability and risk exposure.
- Collaborate with underwriting, finance, product development, and risk management teams to implement data-driven recommendations.
- Prepare comprehensive actuarial reports for management, clients, and regulators; present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Support model governance, validation, and documentation to meet internal and regulatory standards.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to cross-functional actuarial projects.
Qualification
- Bachelorβs degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; actuarial designation (ASA/ACAS) or progress toward designation preferred.
- 2-5 years of actuarial experience in pricing, reserving, risk management, or product development.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (R or Python); experience with SAS is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Solid knowledge of insurance products, pricing methodologies, reserving principles, and ERM frameworks.
- Experience with data visualization tools and advanced Excel capabilities; comfortable handling large datasets.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment.
