Responsibility
- Develop and maintain actuarial models for pricing, reserving, capital planning, and scenario testing using R, Python, and Excel.
- Perform data extraction, cleansing, and exploratory analysis on large insurance datasets to support business decisions.
- Lead model validation activities ensuring governance and regulatory conformity.
- Prepare clear actuarial reports and presentations for executives and cross functional stakeholders.
- Mentor junior actuaries and collaborate with underwriting, product, and finance teams on key initiatives.
- Support quarterly and annual reserving processes and pricing analyses across lines of business.
- Translate complex results into actionable business recommendations and communicate risk insights.
- Continuously improve modeling templates, documentation, and operational processes.
Qualification
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of actuarial experience in insurance or reinsurance with progressive responsibilities.
- Active or progressing actuarial credentials (SOA/CAS); fellowship is a plus.
- Strong programming skills in R and Python; proficient in SQL; experience with SAS is a plus.
- Experience with actuarial software such as Prophet or Radar and strong modeling and data visualization skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills; ability to present complex results clearly.
- Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment in New York City with strong governance and documentation.
