We are seeking a highly motivated Actuarial Scientist to help design and implement pricing, reserving, and risk models for a diverse portfolio of clients. As an Actuarial Scientist, you will collaborate across product, underwriting, and finance teams to translate complex data into actionable insights, ensure model governance, and deliver compelling client-ready deliverables.
Responsibility
- Develop and maintain pricing, reserving, and capital models for multiple lines of business.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, drivers, and opportunities for risk mitigation.
- Collaborate with product, underwriting, and finance teams to translate model outputs into actionable business decisions.
- Prepare actuarial reports, assumptions, and management commentary; present findings to senior leadership.
- Ensure model governance, documentation, and regulatory compliance (IFRS 17 / Solvency II and related standards).
- Validate, backtest, and monitor model performance; propose improvements as needed.
- Mentor junior actuaries and support internship programs to build strong actuarial talent.
Qualification
- Actuarial designation or progress toward ASA/CAS; 3+ years of actuarial experience in pricing, reserving, or risk modeling.
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, and SQL; experience with actuarial software such as Prophet is preferred.
- Proficient Excel skills; experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of pricing, reserves, and risk analytics; familiarity with IFRS 17 or Solvency II desirable.
- Excellent written and oral communication; ability to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
- Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with solid problem-solving abilities and business acumen.
