As an Actuarial Scientist, you will collaborate across product, underwriting, and finance teams to translate complex data into actionable insights, ensure model governance, and deliver compelling client-ready deliverables.

Responsibility

  • Develop and maintain pricing, reserving, and capital models for multiple lines of business.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, drivers, and opportunities for risk mitigation.
  • Collaborate with product, underwriting, and finance teams to translate model outputs into actionable business decisions.
  • Prepare actuarial reports, assumptions, and management commentary; present findings to senior leadership.
  • Ensure model governance, documentation, and regulatory compliance (IFRS 17 / Solvency II and related standards).
  • Validate, backtest, and monitor model performance; propose improvements as needed.
  • Mentor junior actuaries and support internship programs to build strong actuarial talent.

Qualification

  • Actuarial designation or progress toward ASA/CAS; 3+ years of actuarial experience in pricing, reserving, or risk modeling.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, and SQL; experience with actuarial software such as Prophet is preferred.
  • Proficient Excel skills; experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Deep knowledge of pricing, reserves, and risk analytics; familiarity with IFRS 17 or Solvency II desirable.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; ability to present complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical mindset with solid problem-solving abilities and business acumen.
