StaffKing Pte Ltd is seeking an ambitious and curious individual for the role of Application Engineer / Technical Engineer at an entry level. Based in Singapore's Central Region, you will join a team that designs and supplies high quality valve solutions used in fire protection systems, and you will participate in fire protection audits to help customers achieve safety and compliance. This is a hands-on, learning-focused opportunity ideal for recent Mechanical Engineering graduates who want to kick-start their careers in a growth-oriented, safety-critical industry.
In this role you will work closely with senior engineers, sales and field service teams to translate customer requirements into practical engineering solutions. You will gain exposure to product selection, sizing calculations, testing, documentation, and site commissioning, while developing a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices. Responsibility
- Provide technical support to sales and project teams by understanding customer requirements and recommending suitable valve products and fire protection solutions.
- Assist in technical specification, sizing calculations, and preparation of engineering drawings and bill of materials BOMs.
- Prepare and review technical documentation including datasheets, quotations, certificates, and commissioning checklists.
- Support testing, inspection, and commissioning activities at client sites under supervision.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, QA, field service) to ensure product quality and project timelines.
- Assist with fire protection audits, compliance reporting, and site quality assurance procedures.
- Maintain accurate records in CRM and project trackers; monitor progress and communicate updates to stakeholders.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; open to entry-level candidates or final-year students.
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems, valves, hydraulics, and basic controls.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings; familiarity with CAD tools is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills; able to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment; proactive and self-motivated.
- Knowledge of fire protection or safety standards is advantageous (familiarity with NFPA or local standards).
- Fluent in English; willing to travel to sites as required (limited travel).
